Superdry & Co has completed a refinancing that shifts its senior debt away from specialist turnaround lenders and into the hands of two major banks. The Cheltenham-headquartered fashion brand and retailer has secured a committed asset-based lending facility of £60 million, led by Barclays, with Bank of America also participating. The arrangement runs until October 2029.

Sitting alongside it is a £10 million trade finance facility from Barclays, guaranteed by UK Export Finance (UKEF), the government’s export credit agency. Together the two elements form a £70 million funding package, with the trade finance portion specifically aimed at supporting the group’s international business.

Superdry Secures £70m Refinancing to Fund Store Growth

A £70 Million Boost for the Next Chapter

Superdry & Co has secured a refinancing package worth £70 million to underpin its next stage of retail expansion and international growth. The arrangement is split between a £60 million committed asset-based lending facility and a separate £10 million trade finance facility.

The new senior borrowing replaces the turnaround arrangements the group put in place during 2023 with UK lenders Bantry Bay Capital and Hilco Capital. According to the company, the restructuring will improve its annualised interest cost base by around £5 million — a meaningful saving for a business that has spent several years tightening its operations.
