Two very different names in style are meeting on common ground: the loafer. Paris-based fashion house Karl Lagerfeld has teamed up with American footwear maker G.H. Bass on a footwear capsule for autumn/winter 2026, built entirely around the penny loafer.

The timing is deliberate. The partnership lands as G.H. Bass marks two landmarks: the company’s 150th anniversary and nine decades since its Weejuns penny loafer first appeared. Founded in Maine in 1876, the brand introduced the Weejuns in 1936 and presents the style as the original penny loafer. Karl Lagerfeld has taken that heritage silhouette and reinterpreted it through its own design language.
