Dutch headline inflation on the national consumer price index (CPI) rose to 3.3 percent year-on-year in August 2026, up slightly from 3.2 percent in July, according to Statistics Netherlands (CBS). The increase was driven mainly by prices for goods and services Dutch consumers buy abroad, which were 7.4 percent higher than a year earlier. Within the national CPI basket, clothing and footwear prices rose 1.1 percent year-on-year, up from 0.2 percent in July but still well below the overall inflation rate.
