Target Shoppers Celebrate: 2,000 Price Cuts for Autumn

Target unveils 2,000 new price reductions on home and apparel, part of 10,000 cuts this year, ahead of Circle Deal Days.

Target has announced a fresh round of price reductions on almost 2,000 everyday items, just as the busy autumn and holiday shopping season gets under way. The cuts affect a wide range of home and apparel products and build on more than 10,000 reductions the retailer has already made over the past year.

Among the most noticeable savings, women’s long-sleeve tees now cost $12, down from $15. The average price of women’s shoes has fallen to $35, compared with $40 last year. Families shopping for children will find rain and winter boots around 15 per cent cheaper, while bedding ranges are down by an average of 15 per cent. A Threshold queen comforter, for example, is now $69 instead of $89.

These reductions come ahead of Target’s Circle Deal Days on 6–7 October, when members of the Target Circle loyalty programme can unlock extra savings. The combination of lower everyday prices and member-only promotions is designed to help households make their budgets stretch further during a season when spending typically rises.

“Guests are looking for great products at an incredible value, and that’s an important part of what we aim to deliver every day,” said Cara Sylvester, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer at Target. “By continuing to lower prices across our assortment, we’re making it even easier for busy families to create moments of joy this fall with the style, design and exceptional value they can only find at Target.”

The move reflects a broader focus on value as shoppers remain cautious about discretionary spending. By cutting prices on frequently purchased items – from clothing and footwear to bedding and home essentials – Target aims to keep its stores top of mind for families looking to refresh their homes and wardrobes without overspending.

For UK readers, it’s worth noting that these prices are in US dollars and apply to Target’s American stores. The retailer’s share price was down 0.30 per cent in pre-market trading on the New York Stock Exchange, changing hands at $158.00, after closing Monday’s regular session 0.62 per cent higher.

Target’s latest reductions cover both seasonal items and year-round staples, meaning shoppers can expect to find lower prices on everything from cosy winter boots for kids to fresh bedding for the colder months. With Circle Deal Days just around the corner, members have an added incentive to plan their shopping trips and make the most of the savings.

Whether you’re updating your autumn wardrobe or preparing your home for the festive season, the new price cuts offer a timely opportunity to stock up on essentials while keeping costs down. As retailers compete for attention during the crucial final quarter, Target’s move signals that value will remain a key battleground in the months ahead.
