Louis Vuitton Enters the Virtual Realm with Tempo Point Travel Book

Louis Vuitton partners with Riot Games for a Travel Book set in K/DA's fictional city, Tempo Point. Explore the limited editions and exclusive vinyl EP.

Louis Vuitton is charting unfamiliar territory with the latest addition to its Travel Book series, venturing into a metropolis that exists only in the digital realm. Tempo Point, the fictional city from the universe of virtual pop group K/DA, is the subject of this unprecedented volume. The group’s members—Ahri, Evelynn, Kai’Sa and Akali—are also playable characters in the video game League of Legends.

This project marks the first time the French fashion house has collaborated with game developer Riot Games, as announced on Friday. Previously, the Travel Book series has partnered with artists from around the globe. With Tempo Point, Louis Vuitton explores a wholly imagined world, blending gaming, music and graphic novels into a single tome.

Readers are invited to follow the four members of K/DA over a 24-hour period, with 70 illustrations guiding them through the imaginary cityscape and the group’s daily lives. The visuals are accompanied by a biography of K/DA and a travelogue about Tempo Point, painting a vivid picture of this digital destination.

The Tempo Point Travel Book will be available in two editions: a Standard Edition and a large-format Collector’s Edition. Both are hardcovers with fabric covers, featuring a seven-colour print and a screen-printed design. The content is published in English, French and Chinese. The limited Collector’s Edition goes a step further, including a vinyl record with K/DA’s new EP, offering fans a tangible piece of the virtual world.

This collaboration is not the first between Louis Vuitton and Riot Games. In 2019 and 2020, the two companies joined forces for League of Legends, with Nicolas Ghesquière, artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s womenswear collections, designing the Trophy Trunk for the game’s World Championship. He also created virtual outfits, known as skins, for characters Qiyana and Senna from the virtual hip-hop collective True Damage. The partnership extended to a physical capsule collection, LV x League of Legends, featuring clothing, bags and accessories, all designed by Ghesquière.

The Tempo Point Travel Book represents a new creative direction for the series, offering a novel travel experience that transcends physical boundaries. By embracing a fictional city and its virtual inhabitants, Louis Vuitton continues to push the boundaries of fashion and storytelling, inviting readers to explore a world where imagination knows no limits.
