Jil Sander and Oliver Peoples unveil their second sunglasses collaboration, featuring three new styles handmade in Japan with Italian lenses.
Jil Sander and Oliver Peoples Reveal Second Eyewear Collaboration
Milan-based fashion house Jil Sander, part of the Italian OTB group, has once again joined forces with American eyewear brand Oliver Peoples to release the second chapter of their sunglasses collaboration. The new collection follows the debut drop in March and introduces three fresh styles that blend Jil Sander’s refined aesthetic with Oliver Peoples’ eyewear expertise.
Designed by Jil Sander’s creative director Simone Bellotti alongside the Oliver Peoples team, the collection comprises three distinct models: one in titanium and two in acetate. Each pair is handmade in Japan and fitted with lenses produced in Italy, ensuring a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
A Softer, More Colourful Direction
The second drop marks a shift towards rounder, softer shapes, with a greater emphasis on colour. Frame and lens combinations range from tonal pairings to bolder contrasts, offering wearers a variety of expressive options.
“It’s a collection that plays on contradictions: extreme Japanese precision for an organic, fluid feel,” says Bellotti. He highlights the acetate frame of Edition 9, which widens towards the bottom, as an example of this interplay between structure and softness.
The Three New Styles
Edition 7 – Titanium This style pairs a rounded frame with a sculpted top bar and curved temples. It features adjustable nose pads and Oliver Peoples glass lenses, combining comfort with a distinctive architectural silhouette.
Edition 9 – Acetate Cut from thick acetate, Edition 9 gives the front an angular look. Small gold engravings add a subtle touch of luxury, including ‘handcrafted in Japan’ on the temple tip, a nod to the artisanal production process.
Edition 10 – Acetate This model offers a rounded, upswept shape with curved temples, continuing the collection’s softer, more fluid aesthetic.
Each of the three styles is available in four different frame and lens combinations, allowing for personalisation and versatility.
Bellotti’s Vision for Jil Sander
The collaboration is presented as part of Simone Bellotti’s broader work to establish his creative vision at Jil Sander, where he has served as creative director since March 2025. With this second eyewear collection, Bellotti continues to shape the brand’s identity, merging Japanese precision with Italian lens craftsmanship and a contemporary, colour-driven design language.
The Jil Sander x Oliver Peoples collection is available now through select retailers and the brands’ official channels. For those seeking eyewear that balances technical innovation with refined aesthetics, these new styles offer a compelling proposition.
