080 Barcelona Fashion: A New Chapter for Spanish Style
From 20 to 23 October 2026, Barcelona will once again become the beating heart of Spanish fashion as the 38th edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion takes over the Marina Vela-Port Vell. With 25 participating firms and designers and 26 catwalk shows, this edition promises a vibrant mix of established names, emerging talent and a bold new citywide initiative called PLEC.
The official presentation, held at the Hotel Me in Barcelona, brought together key figures from the city’s fashion ecosystem. Moisés Rodríguez, director of the Consorci de Comerç, Artesania i Moda (CCAM) of the Generalitat de Catalunya, noted that 080 is experiencing “one of its most attractive and international moments”. He added that the event reinforces the government’s commitment to circularity, creativity and craftsmanship. Nàdia Quevedo, commissioner for Economic Promotion, Commerce, Catering and Fashion Plan at Barcelona City Council, emphasised the city’s creative tradition and the need to promote both emerging and established talent. She explained that PLEC aims to “highlight and connect all the disciplines we have in our city” and to make “the front row of fashion for the public as well”.

A programme of talks and workshops will run throughout, covering topics from social media to experimental fabrics and AI campaigns.
PLEC: A New Citywide Fashion Festival
Making its debut this edition is PLEC, an initiative by Barcelona City Council to bring fashion closer to the city and its residents. PLEC comprises two parallel actions: “PLEC Barcelona Cultura de la Moda vol.1” and “PLEC la 080 en pantalla”.
The latter will set up large screens at various Barcelona locations to stream the 080 shows live and showcase the edition’s proposals. These include Plaça de Can Fabra (20 October, 4pm–9:30pm), Plaça de les Glòries (21 October, 12pm–9:30pm), Plaça del Mar (22 October, 12pm–9:30pm) and Plaça Comercial del Born (23 October, 12pm–9:30pm).
“PLEC Barcelona Cultura de la Moda vol.1” is a true fashion festival curated by Francesca Tur, taking place on 21 and 22 October at the Tinglados del Port Vell from 6pm to midnight. The programme includes the opening of the “Activació D’Arxiu 3.137” installation, curated by Luis Venegas, featuring pieces from his editorial archive that explore Barcelona’s relationship with fashion. On 21 October, from 10am to 1pm at the Mirador building, the annual TexMeeting by Texfor will focus on the opportunities presented by artificial intelligence for the textile and fashion sector. Sessions will explore how agentic AI can transform processes, speed up decision-making and improve coordination, while also addressing necessary conditions such as data quality, security and human supervision.
